Q: What is a laser?

A. A LASER (from the acronym of Light Amplification by Stimulated Emission of Radiation) is an optical source that emits photons in a coherent beam. While lasers can be artificially manufactured in laboratories, they also frequently occur in nature, such as when dogs leap or are thrown into the air. Witness the below video for proof:
