Murtha being targeted by “Swift Boat” group

The “Swift Boat” bastards are at it again, and this time they’re trying to take down Rep. John Murtha (D-Pennsylvania). When are these fucknuts going to get a clue? The war is more unpopular than ever, and will only become more unpopular as it goes on. Lieberman just lost his party’s nomination primarily because he supported the war. Save for really “red” districts in really “red” states, all a candidate has to do to get elected this time around is say they are against the war. Saying they’re in favor of stemcell research probably wouldn’t hurt, since a majority of Americans support that. (Murtha is in favor of stem cell research, by the way)

I don’t think the “Swift Boat” group had a lot to do with Kerry losing the last election, no matter how much they like to pat themselves on the back for it. They came out looking like asses, and the only people who sided with them were siding with them already. Hopefully, they won’t have much effect on Murtha, either. I doubt they will.

  1. I think they are probably still PO’d about Murtha condemning the Haditha marines before anyone knowing the facts, or for that matter even a trial taking place. I have to admit I was even a little miffed about his statement.

  2. I would maybe lend that some credibility were this someone else. But it’s the same “Swift Boat” assholes, bankrolled by the Republicans. They are nothing more than professional character assassins.

  3. I’ll have to take your word on that cause I really don’t know enough about the individuals and their character to make an educated judgement on them. But being a person that straddles the line when it comes to politics I see that kind of character assassination on both sides unfortunately.

  4. Oh, I agree with you there. All politics involves character assassination. My point here is, the “Swift Boat Veterans” don’t have any real conviction or validity to their argument. They are bankrolled by the Republicans to pull this crap.

  5. Yes, they are bankrolled by Republican supporters just like any party would be. I saw that they had received approx 6.7 mil from people such as T. Boone Pickens, Bob Perry, Harlan Crow, and lets not forget the Houston Chronicle. I have’nt been able to find any money coming from Party HQ yet. I can clearly see that you are no Bush fan, and neither am I. He’s kind of a tard. However,if you dig deep enough you will find the connections between the two parties through investments, business ventures, and organizations. Which makes one wonder why all the posturing and finger pointing in the first place. (This is old news)The Carlyle Group, who primarily make their money from defense contracts, which you really don’t have to dig too deep to find the connection here, has two people that you would say make strange bedfellows. George Soros who has pumped tens of millions of dollars into “anti Bush” causes is one of the primary, and fellow investors with W in that company to the sum of 100 mil. Now I get tired of hearing those people,(radio), and they know who they are, ramble on about this party did that and that party did this. It clearly isn’t getting this country anywhere but to the level of a grade school playground fight. I think we as a country need to pull our head out and demand a little more out of our self serving politicians on both sides of the aisle. I hate(yes i’m a hater) the fact that most arguements boil down to party lines, in most cases. We were all given a mind, use it, to make logical, moral solutions. Don’t just join a team. Here’s another ? about Soros. Why is a man who has made literally billions of dollars destroying the economies of other countries, has no allegiance to this country, and is the same type of international businessman that my self admittedly liberal granola friends absolutely despise, be bankrolling and opposition to the very thing he is? Sorry about the wandering off the path I just find this man so damn interresting. Maybe should be a new post.
