IBM feels that surfing for porn on company time is grounds for termination. Sounds reasonable. A lot of us work with computers and understand the consequences associated with looking at such material.

Well one disgruntled ex-employee of the computer giant feels otherwise. In an age where almost no lawsuit surprises me, James Pacenza is now suing IBM for firing him because of such an offense. His claim is that porn is self medication for stress and should be viewed as an addiction. Apparently the company provides treatment for abusers of alcohol and drugs, but not lovers of naked ladies.

I used to be surprised that lawyers would take such cases, but I grew old and cynical.
